Pictures with Purpose... :)

Here are some of my photos with friends.... :)

These photos was taken last summer...

"Self-helped is no help at all. Self-sacrifice is the way, my way, to finding yourself, your true self."

I've read this 2 years ago from Rick Warren's "The Purpose Driven Life",
the book tells us our real purpose in earth, it's a very inspiring book. I tell you guys you must
read it...

I remember a pastor asking me, "Carla, what do you prefer inherit the earth or the earth will inherit you?" I answered him, "Earth will inherit me..."

How 'bout you? What do you prefer?

What?

Wow, after Jurassic years (is there such thing?)! Anyway, I was very busy with schooling lately and I wasn't able to make an update for you guys (sorry for that!).

In the past few months, I was having my duty at different hospitals and I would be sharing some experiences that I really can't forget or it would be better if I'll say "my treasured moments..."

Month of July:

I was lucky to have a humble and knowledgeable clinical instructor (everyone's knowledgeable) at the OB ward of Nueva Vizcaya's Veteran's Regional Hospital. Having little knowledge about obstetrics is hard especially when you're on the clinical setting but our C.I --don't know if I'm allowed to say her name-- has taught us everything that we should learn to be able to become a better nurses in the near future...

When we had duty at the OB Ward, our shift was from 11pm-7am (kakapagod yun, soooobra!) we (me and my group mates) weren't allowed to take sit, take a nap and chat while at the ward. I have experienced assisting a doctor for Internal Examination of patients who are allowed to go home, it wasn't my best experience though but I think liked it... =))

Month of August:

Did you know that I have a type AB blood? Haahaa, I'm proud of it... :)

I would be telling you my best experience while having our duty at a private hospital. When I was in my 2nd year in college (i guess) i wanted to donate my blood but I wasn't qualified yet at that time that's why I told myself that there would be a time that I can experience donating my blood...
August 11, 2009: While having our lunch I asked our C.I if I can donate my blood, I can clearly remember what she answered, "Oo naman, bakit gusto mo ba? Anung blood type ka?" I felt lucky and answered her question immediately, "Talaga ma'am? Type AB po ako!" I wasn't able to concentrate on my food, I was thinking of what would I feel while donating my blood, what will happened while taking 450mL of blood on my body, what will I eat or drink after that and the main course is that who will be the lucky person to take my blood?
The moment: The doctor who interviewed me was very kind and caring, I can't remember his name anymore yay, masyado kasi akong pre-occupied ng mga oras na yun! =))

The nurse took 5mL of blood on my arm for some examinations before I can donate my blood, so after knowing the results of my immunology test (non reactive naman lahat! whew...) the medical technologist prepared me, I lay down on the hospital bed and got nervous when I saw the big needle at the end of the tube but I wasn't scared... haahaa! While my 450mL of blood was being transferred at the blood bag, I was feeling normal, I thought I would feel dizzy but I didn't... When I saw my blood I was so happy, I don't know why! All I know was that blood can help a person and I will continue to donate my blood... :)

After that experienced I felt nice, I felt new!

Month of September:

For the month of Sept. we had our duty at the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital, there were lots of nursing students at that hospital (I was one of them, haahaa!). I am one of the students who hated patients with foul smell before but I'm already immuned to that, sometimes I can manage to stay beside a patient who hasn't took a bath for 2 or 3 days... Achievement yun ha, ang matiis ang amoy ng pasyente mo! haahaa... All I can't manage is to pump a bag valve mask for 30 minutes, I still need the help of my groupmates (Nakaka-ngawit kaya)! I am hoping to manage it soon, may mga pasyente pa naman sa NVPH na naka bag valve mask!

The best ward that I love most was the Pedia ward, all kids were crying when you're near them... =))

I had a patient who was really screaming every time I'll talk to him, her mother told me, "Natatakot siya baka tusukin mo daw siya..." But eventhough they scream and cry to death I still love my patients at the pedia ward! Kids there are funny and adorable ... :)

The End!

I'll be posting some pictures soon, when I'm done editing them!
Thank You guys for always waiting for my updates... Sorry! :D
GOD BLESS everyone!

Zambales Trip

We just came home from Zambales, it was greatly fun bacause it was my first time to be in that place -kontodo picture ako... =))

My nephew -ian, was a bible bearer @ Kuya Richard's wedding. He was excited, but before that we went to a beach, we watched the sunset and played with the waves. Nakikipaghabulan yung pamangkin ko sa alon, parang sira, actually he was afraid baka kainin daw siya. Childish isn't it? After the fun and excitement, we ate our dinner, waaaa! Dun ako hindi tumanggi, they served crabs for dinner and lots of more, dami namin nakain ng ate ko haahaa... I was really full after that, yay!

After the wedding we went straight to Manila, we made a little shopping (muy poco)...Then we went to Kuya Sherwin's place (Kuya Banjo's friend) and rest for a while, humingi ako ng mga mp3 files niya... Dami niya songs, pati ate ko humingi ng mga kanta, nakakatuwa kasi mahilig din siya sa mga alternative songs like me... At around 12 o'clock midnight, lumarga na kami pauwi...

NOTE: The wedding was held at a catholic church (San Roque Church @ San Felipe, Zambales), and some pictures were taken at Subic bay freeport.
